Resurrection Sunday: Remembering Christ's Sacrifice, Celebrating His Resurrection

We have taken two weeks off of our study of 1 Thessalonians to focus on Jesus Christ. In a culture where religion is considered a weakness and Christians are thought to believe in superstitions, we need to remember that our faith is historic. It can stand up to examination. It is verifiable.

Last Sunday we took a quick look at how the Scriptures stand up to accusations against being reliable and how the Jesus of the Bible was never doubted by those who lived in the first centuries. And we saw that Jesus himself claimed to be the divine Messiah promised by God.

This week we remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and celebrate his resurrection. Not as a religious or spiritual 'tradition', but as a historical event. We are reminded that THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED!

This Sunday we will look at the claim of his resurrection and how this 'Main Event' gives us a solid, historical, factual foundation for our faith. I hope we can all gather together as we resolve the enigma "Who moved the Stone?".

Praying that this week would prepare us for our time together,
Rob
